This presumably means.....as soon as we can persuade someone, anyone, to take the job we'll let you know!
Having once been involved myself in the sacking of a football manager (albeit at a lower level) I can recall with clarity that we did in fact have a suitable replacement lined up before the deed was done. Sensible, or what?!!
