We have heard nothing from neither, that makes me think it is very likely they both have applied.

Managers like Robson are arrogant enough to quote to the press just to throw their weight as a 'big name manager'. Lesser known managers will generally keep a low profile, so not to look silly in the press and blow their chances.

So just because we haven't heard anything doesn't mean they haven't applied in my opinion.
