Yeah, bloody students :-)

I can't speak for UEA, as I've only ever been there as an "outsider" - before I went to Uni, and after I returned.

But at Hull there was definitely the signing in procedure - another reason for it was to keep out the large groups of locals after the cheap beer and higher-quality women than they'd get elsewhere in Hull. Problem is that a lot of the locals were perceived as anti-Student, when in fact most of them depended on the student population to keep them in work. The ones that had jobs, anyway!
