Anyway, that's balls about the Prem transfer fees

Here's what we spent in FEES:

Saffers, June 2004 ? 500k plus add-ons, say 1m
Gallacher, June 2004 ? free
Helveg, July 2004 ? free
Simon Charlton, July 2004 ? 250k
The Doc, August 2004 ? 600k plus add-ons, say 1m
Jonson, August 2004 ? 600k
Darren Ward, August 2004 ? 250k
Stuart, Jan 2005 ? free
Deano, Jan 2005 ? 3m

Total ?6.1m

But we were specifically told that buying Ashton used up the first season's parachute payment in advance. So that means only ?3.1m to come out of the promotion money. Less 300k for Malky, which is ?2.8m. Which isn't an awful lot compared to the promotion revenues. (Yes I know there's wages as well.)

Not only that, but we sold Jonson for 700k and Helveg for 135k the next summer, so that's a net cost of only ?2m.

And then there's the money for Deano, and the money for Franics, and the money for Green
