I think that

the current team is good enough to make the top 6 with everyone pulling together and I expect the new manager to have that effect (if they get the right person).

I will not regard it as a failure if we don't make it as he desereves a period in which to stabilise things but i do think the players have ben massively underperforming (rather than not being good enough) and when that is the case things can often turn around pretty quickly.
