the point was that the fact that he gets paid a lot makes no difference.
A violent response is wrong, but so is personal abuse.
Incidents like the Hughes one could be avoided if "fans" who scream abuse such as "c*nt" at players during the game were kicked out and banned (has their season ticket taken away for instance). Sadly that doesn't happen, so fans think they have licence to be abusive and players think they have no recourse and so feel the need to take matters into their own hands. Players should be able to point out fans who hurl personal abuse and get them banned if necessary. It would get rid of the w*nkers in the crowd and make matchday a better experience for everybody.
