He used the word 'faggott' as a perjorative term.

I couldn't care less whether he thinks he is being funny or not.

To me, that is homophobia. The implication is quite clear, he was implying, in a negative sense, that Moyles was gay for asking him what he thought of the attractiveness of his fellow players.

If someone thinks nothing of using the word 'faggot' on a national radio station I think this indicates the tip of an iceberg or that person's homophobia.

I don't see why you should be able to say 'don't bring racism into it'. I doubt very much Rio would like someone calling him a 'nigger', even in jest.
