You have missed the point, unfortunately, again.

XXL's comments have been that it SHOULD be a former player due to their connection with the club.

If Bowen, Newman, Roberts, Crook, Anselin, Keelan, Foggo etc are the best candidates from a forward-looking managerial point of view, then so be it. Their connection with the club should not be the defining criterion.
