if it means we can get someone we might not otherwise have got for the money, then it's a good thing.
Having said that, what other potential managers have a City connection? O'Neill is the only one it would really have applied for, and we're three months too late for that.
Personally, I wouldn't mind Bowen, but you'd have to think that he'd need a much more experienced assistant than Chippy. And you have to remember the John Deehan factor. Brilliant as Walker's #2 but utter s**te as the top man. Can we take that risk? Can we afford not to?
It's a hell of a decision to make, and without seeing the applications we don't know just who might be in the hat...
