but the point still stands, as stated above, that we could sell Earnshaw at any point in the near future and recoup that ?3m, if not slightly more. Which could then be reinvested by a different manager on several players, allowing him to build his own squad.

Alternatively, said new manager could keep a very good striker and build a team around him.

So not that ill-advised really.
