I have not read any messages on this board today...

...and quite frankly have no desire to.

Today was the darkest day I have ever witnessed as a fan of this once wonderful football club. Worse than the Chase days, even relegation.

The time was right for Nigel Worthington to move on, overdue even. But what I witnessed today was an embarassment to our club.

I have been a home and away season ticket holder for several years and travel thousands of miles, spending hundreads of pounds supporting the team. You will not find anyone more disappointed about the current situation as me, I even emailed Neil Doncaster after the Plymouth game with my concerns.

This is my point. There are ways of expressing your feelings without targetting one individual in such a savage and disrespectful manner. No doubt those 'supporters' dishing out such abuse today will not care to remember (if they were even around then) the state the club was in before Nigel took over.

He has achieved a great deal for NCFC, taking us to the play off final, the premiership and to a platform from which we can really build.

Was there such a need for behaivour of the crowd today? No, there certainly wasn't.

It was Nigels time to go and he has left with his dignity intact, even praising the fans who berated him.

Tonight he is out of a job with many fans rejoicing in the part they believe they played in his downfall. I'm sure Nigel Worthington will be able to look himself in the mirror in the morning, but how many people on here will be able to do the same?

Nigel Worthington - From the very bottom of my heart I thank you, and wish you all the best for the future. You are a more honourable man than the majority of the people who you spoke of so highly today.

To the fans of NCFC - Tonight, I am ashamed of the image you have given this club.

See you all at QPR? No doubt it will be only the minority there.

OTBC.
