it was probably because a lot of supporters' earliest memories is the end of the chase regime and so they think that this is the way things should be done each time they're not happy with someone at the club.

but at the same time, worthington really was being very selfish hanging on so long just to get his compensation. he really should have resigned half a year ago or so, and the whole sit u ation would have been avoided.
