A bit niaive to think that

The writing has been on the wall for ages. It would be totally wrong for the Board not to have discussed the future, even on an informal, off the record sort of way. A bit like saying today, 'God, Nigel isn't good enough, is he? Oh my God, what shall we do now?' They have been preparing for this moment - and quite rightly so.
