So WHY was Plymouth the final straw?

Was it because it was a shambolic away defeat? We've seen loads of them. Or was it because the turnout of City fans fell by 32% as against last season and if that sort of thing starts happening at home (say with season ticket renewals) then it's toilet time for everyone?
