one is when the season has literally just started, the other represents a realistic picture of how things are

ie, December last season for Norwich didn't mean Worthington had "turned the corner", it was just a run of results

You'd might have a point if last season didn't happen, but we are now about a fifth into the season, and we are showing that we are the laughing stock again.

Reading were running away with it at this point last year. Adams viewpoint, which was echo'd by a few, was if you don't start well, it takes you a while to catch up

I'd love to know what this seasons excuse is
