Of course in an ideal world, we would choose winning every game until the end of the season, regardless of who's in charge
BUT, we are not Arsenal, and truly, if we had a manager who could achieve that sort of feat with us, just how long would it be before he wanted to move on to greater things, or someone tempted him away?
Face it, it won't happen. We might win the next two, and things will then rumble on, both 'sides' becoming more entrenched. I don't want Worthington here anymore, simply because he's had his day, and is not improving the state of play on the pitch, and we are not progressing, despite the money he's had available.
However, the statement should not have been issued. If the board think his time is up, they should have done the deed, preferably behind closed doors. They seem unable to act on gut instincts and make business decisions, instead they have plummeted the club into the fields of reality TV.
I have actually lost all respect for the board over the past week and now feel very sorry for Mr Worthington. No one, least of all the club manager should be treated like this. It's the weak willed board who need to do the deed. Well do it, you know how the fans feel (or should do by now). You are the ones able to make the ultimate decision...
Or are they planning a text/phone vote after the game, so we can decide for them.
