If Maclaren was really confident in his own authority - would he really think that Beckham doesn't deserve a place in the squad?

Maybe Gerard and Wright-Philips are both better on the right. Maybe. But can't help feeling that if Beckham was at Chelsea, he'd get more games than SWP does....
