subsequent statements form the Board and the players is that it makes reference only to the Plymouth performance as being unacceptable. The performances have been unacceptable since relegation and the trend apart from the ocassional temporary improvement is in steep decline. Even if therefore we do well in the next two games that is no indication of a long term reversal of the decline. The reality is that the statements therefore are worthless ( sorry about the pun) and if Plymouth ( and Crystal Palace and Coventry ) were the last three games straw then he should have gone after the Plymouth game.
