Looking at the statement by Delia and Co yesterday...

and going back to Worthington's post match interview on Saturday, it appears that this may have been already discussed between the 2 parties prior to Saturday's result.

Which means at least the board have set Worthington targets and are willing to go through what is necessary if he doesn't meet them.
