Just got this email from Neil Doncaster:
"thanks for your email Paul. if you'd like to discuss your views, i can be reached on my office number (01603 218 707). it's interesting that Curbishley has apparently ruled out the possibility of joining West Brom, who are virtually debt free
OTBC
Neil"
Basically implys that "debt free" (i.e. rich in football terms) West Brom couldn't tempt him....
For info heres my original message to him...
"How many other managers would have lasted this long? And I don't mean just in football... when someone doesn't hit their targets in any job they can expect some kinD of punishment surely?
Last year the clubs target was to be in the top 2. This year it must have been playoffs. You must realise by now that kind of target is a pipe dream considering the dire performance of the last couple of seasons (yes SEASONS, not matches... the odd good performance here and there isn't good enough... good teams are consistant)
Is it going to change just all of a sudden?? Are we going to suddenly become a side to be scared of, even though Worthington hasn't been able to do that for more than 2 seasons? BE REALISTIC
We have good players and we know we have the option to expand our squad if YOU SHOW THE SAME AMBITION THE SUPPORTERS HAVE.
The club is crying out for a good respected manager that can actually attract good players to the club, can motivate the team and can actually make manageral decisions (standing arms folded and making a sub at 70 mins every game, regardless of whats happening, is not a managerial decision... a monkey could do that... crystal palace was a classic the other week... we were the better side 1st half but lost.... why? Worthy didn't read the game, CP brught on fresh legs early, got back into it and by the time we made our subs it was too late, they were on top and then scored)
Do the right thing, sack him before the club gets in REAL trouble (and we need a real manager... not a blackpool reject like we got last time... someone respected... look at the high level of managers in our division... surely we could attract Curbishley?)
I appreciate that you probably won't respond, but believe me all supporters feel the same as I do... to sum up, congrats for Worthy getting us promoted, but he's run his course... we need a bigger and better manager for the club to progress"
Fair play to the guy for reading it and replying and giving me his number!
