Perhaps he was the best of the available bunch? It's not perfect, I agree, but I'd rather take Dion on a free until the end of the season than Steve Howard for a million, which is what me might have ended up with.

Dublin is a proven Premiership player, and if he's fit enough, I'm more than happy to have him upfront until May. Maybe then someone else might be available at the right price.

Plus, if McV starts flicking and fannying, Dion can hit him over the head with his cock.
