Too many players - the curse of the modern game

Liverpool used to win the title with only 14 players in a 42-game season.

Also the reason there are more injuries is because the diagnostic equipment these days is so much better and the blood tests etc are so much more thorough that players are declared "injured" even though 20 or 30 years ago they'd have just played on through these minor strains, knocks tweaks.
