his argument seemed to be that absent any injuries, the squad was fine.

Which misses the whole point of a squad - you *know* you're gonna get injuries (and you know there's a transfer window) - therefore the point of a squad is as an insurance policy for when they happen.

We didn't bother with that. Most of us - with the exception of Arganth - saw that this was crazy.
