Ok, here goes

If you look at the tone of his regular articles in the local press he is always making excuses for our lack of endeavour in the transfer market.

His piece about Ashton was a case in point - A ?7.25m windfall was suddenly not so great when you added up all the other expenses, if buts and maybe's. This is the reality for every club. We lost Ashton and paid less than half of that for Earnshaw. Contrast that with Mickey Adams at Coventry after selling McSheffrey. He has brought in a raft of players in a very short space of time after getting the green light fom the Board.

Doncaster preaches prudence but the ambition has long sionce departed. This club has so much potential but as ever, it is being held back by a faint hearted approach from those in charge. That is why we still have Worthington as our manager - it is simply the cheaper option.
