As that would only include games against UEFA opposition - too many teams play "easy" friendlies to improve their ranking, but using qualifiers as an indicator would be better.

Obviously it reduces the chances of teams like Northern Ireland beating the likes of Spain, but they'd have to earn the right to get into that situation.

The current situation is a bit like allowing Forest Green Rovers straight into the 3rd round of the FA Cup.
