To be honest

I hear that phrase quite alot. it means nothing. England played average but who is to say they would play like that against better opposition? One performance against an average team means nothing when talking about how we will play a good team. Just like if you said "if we play like that we will win the World Cup" after the Andorra match it means nothing.
