shows how quickly things can happen when a manager is proactive, gets in there to talk to a player first and doesn't just make a few phone calls and "monitor the situation". Not that gutted at missing out because I think he's particularly good but is another example of our apparent laid back approach in transfer negotiations. The only time I think we've been really proactive was in signing Ashton. There other clubs ummed and ahed about it, we were bold and we got the player.
