Perhaps the lack of signings is evidence that Worthington is learning from past mistakes?

It's a high risk strategy of course, but having signed Louis-Jean, Thorne, Hughes etc as primarily squad players last year (and being rightly pilloried for their lack of quality), this year he's going to try and aim to sign only one or two proven, quality players either on loan or permanently in Jan, to fill specific positions in the team created by injury/loss of form.

Of course this strategy only works if we avoid a high number of injuries....
