I think he'll be inclined to stay if we're doing reasonably well

The bad experience he had at West Brom will probably make him think twice before leaving a club where he's a star. After all he was quite loyal to Cardiff for a long time, they still adore him there! Cardiff weren't a particularly big club. Maybe he likes the big fish concept (especially being a little man himself)
