Worthy seems keener on him than anyone and the "if the money can be sorted" thing

is what we have heard several times from the club just before they land someone. I don't think the board can let us go into the closed season with just one new player on the books without huge anger from the fans (hey, that's us) so if it's a matter of find ing an extra 300-500K I reckon they will have to do it, or make Worthy's position pretty much untenable...
