I thought the stewards were a million times better this year.

Both Squirrel and I complained last year about their over-zealous, over-officious, zero-tolerence, over-stewarding. They had 3 stewards to each gangway...staring and scruitinising everyone in a quite ridiculous and provocative way. It only served to stir up resentment, tension and trouble that wasn't there in the first place. Remember Bilvo being thrown out, he was just behind us...and someone else was (fairly though) for taking his beer back to his seat.

As soon as anyone stood up at all, they were promptly told to sit back down again. So sick of this, I actually went to complain to the section head at the time, pointing out the section of Derby fans to our right who had stood all the way through the match. I was told that he wasn't responsible for that section of the ground, but everyone should remain seated at all times.

Pleased that there were far less (visable) stewards on Saturday, but can't even begin to believe the crap that went on with that poor guy.

I didn't go, but was it Plymouth where there were also heavy-handed, over-zealous stewards?
