Pakistan were drifting, good performances from pietersen/cook/collingwood/bell were holding them up. odds on a pakistani win, but draw odds were coming in sharply. ball started hooping around eg cooks wicket, it is possible Hair saw something leading up to that. But the incentive for Pakistan was obvious, especially with a win within their grasp.
Having said that, Hair was needlessly confrontational. He should have had a very strong word with Inzamam and told them to knock it off, rather than just publicly accusing them without any warning......
