Your tale of results day sounds remarkably similar to mine.

I got to college, got my results (I was drunk by this point from drinking beers on the bus with my mates to calm the nerves) and realised I was well short of my main Uni offer (Hull) so I phoned my insurance choice (APU) and they took me.

Then about 3pm Hull uni phoned up and told me they'd accepted me - I said something like "stop taking the piss, who is this". The woman had a laugh and said she was for real, I apologised and told her I'd been drinking and that I may not remember the conversation the next day, to which she replied - "don't worry, there'll be a letter for you tomorrow".

So my day of drinking to drown my sorrows turnd into drinking to celebrate, until 2am.

Brilliant. But 6 years ago now!

Have fun in York, I used to go over there to watch York City play (lived with 2 Yorkies in Hull) when I couldn't get down to watch Norwich, I'd say York are my 2nd team. It's also a cool place, never used to be good for nightlife but I heard that it's picking up a bit now. And in any case, it's only 30 minutes from Leeds.
