I think you are getting confused. What I heard was it was Tim Sherwood

on the bus back from an away game, making jokes about Lineker's kid having leukaemia. He didn't realise that Gunn's daughter had just been diagnosed with it. Gunny decked him there and then and Sherwood was sold very quickly thereafter.
