Off the top of my head, ones I use most frequently include:
- The Guardian
- ZMag.org (lefty news/articles)
- The Onion
- The Register (IT news/articles with an irreverent edge)
- MacInTouch/MacFixIt/VersionTracker (Apple Mac sites)
- last.fm (see what Creosote's listening to: nothing as I write)
- IMDB
- Amazon
- Google
