Green's position

Given the emergence of Carson, Foster and Kirkland aiming for regular first team prem performances, I'm thinking that Green is perhaps closer to England's number 5 than 3. Coupled with the fact that goalkeepers just don't seem to go for silly money I reckon that anything around the ?1m mark makes sense and Green needs the move to re-establish himself so his agent probably won't be over-bartering.
However I am half expecting the club to announce that the money has already been spent on bringing Croft in.
