Much of Marx's work is now undeniably dated and the way that Communism has been bastardised in the USSR, China, Cambodia etc suggest it may not be the answer. However, a Trotskyist permanent revolution, resulting in the rapid spread of socialist revolution across the world. Followed by a transitional phase, closely relating to a Titoist style of workers communes and co-operatives, would undoubtedly increase the standard of living for the masses and provide a fair system where everybody has the potential to achieve self determination.
