yes.. excellent possession football but...

I'm all for 5 in a midfield diamond shape with a middle player just behind the front man a la Chinnor...but although Norwich have the back of the diamond in Safri they sure as hell don't have the front of the Diamond unless they play McVeigh (which of course they don't !) although he is not tall enough to come crashing in for a thumping header. The trouble with our middle is that both Robinson and Desmond play flat. Des played very well and may yet prove the thrusting box player when fitter !!

The problem with the way it is at the moment is that too much reliance is placed on earnshaw. If he's miss firing as at Leeds we are goal less. Worthington had McKenzie stripped off and on the line ready to replace him when he scored and quickly stuck Flem on instead !!

We must remember that Norwich were struggling to carve out a clear opening when the Preston dude almost laughably sliced the ball in to his own net whilst under no pressure. Earns haw's goal came with Preston pushing for an equaliser.

That said Norwich played the pincer movement with Hucks and Croft very well but it took McVeigh (after just 5 minutes on as a substitute) to find the telling pinpoint cross on to Ernie's boot. Up to that point every cross had been either 16 ft above Earnies head or 10 yards behind him (and 10 yards in front of Des)

To be fair to Worthington he spent the whole game screaming a the defence to squeeze up.

Funniest thing was Hunter showing McVeigh a 15 page folder just before he went on telling him what he should be doing ....Hmmmmmm
