Last night.........

Very early days obviously, but so far I would have to sum up the first few days of our season as "pleasantly surprising". The next few weeks will tell us more, but if are all honest, we enjoyed last night far more than we were expecting to (or at least than we were last friday).

Croft looks an excellent player, but again early days. I've seen this kind of thing before and something happens and they never live upto that early promise. Let's hope he's not peaked already, cos if he continues like that he'll be brilliant for us.

Etuhu looks a different player, he seems to have more hunger and desire.

Colin looks different as well - he seems to have bulked up more and seems more comfortable with the physical side of our game now. Again, lets hope he continues in this form.

A word as well for Robinson as he often appears to get stick from certain people. I think Robinson is an excellent player - he does the simple things well and keeps the ball moving. He only ever needs 1 touch and more often than not knows whats around him - awareness. This kind of role is not always at the forefront, but it can be just as vital and I for one think he's gonna be another great buy for only ?50k or whatever is was we spent on him.

So, early days but as I say, pleasantly surprising. And the good news does not stop here, after all, Andy Hughes is back for saturday..............perhaps he could play RW as Croft seems in need of a rest.............
