Just home from the game

And at times we were nearly orgasmic.

Pros

The passing game was so smooth Arsenal would've been proud. Safri, Robbo and Etuhu together as they are have made the midfield look totally different, and they thread passes around like we were Real Madrid. Earnie said he sometimes stopped and just watched, admiring his team mates.

Speaking of Etuhu - is this the same bloke as the sloppy-lazy-good-for-nothing-no-brainer that we spent a fortune on last season? If this form keeps up, not only will a good few people be eating humble pie, Dickson could well be a Carrow Road legend, and saying, "Damien who?".

The atmosphere's back at Carrow Road! First time I've enjoyed a game like that since the Birmingham game where we won 1-0 in the Premiership.

Earnie scoring a super goal, and getting our three points on the board.

Cons

We need a bit more penetration in the box. The way we play I think we might struggle to get Earnie into the positions we need. A big target man should be brought in pronto; if only to sit on the bench and bring on when needed. Which, if we play like that week in week out, might not be so necessary at times.

Sat back too much at times. When we were 1-0 up, we let them come to us, and it really wasn't good. When we started pressing again, we scored the second.

Player ratings:

Gallacher: 6 - Did everything asked; which wasn't much. Made a couple of crap long balls.

Drury: 7 - Got forward well, made some good runs and some good tackles.

Colin: 7 - Looking better and better, but needs to close down more often.

Doherty: 7 - Solid, marked Nugent well out of the game.

Shackell: 7 - Solid, protected the back from everyone else while Doherty kept Nugent quiet

Croft: 7 - Brilliant debut, some top crosses and great ball control. Needs to work on his fitness.

Robinson: 6 - Some good passes and some poorer passes, but can go missing for some time.

Etuhu: 8 - Earnt his man of the match. Was immense. Tracked backwards to help, and got himself in the box. Needs to get his shooting boots on though.

Safri: 7 - Up to his usual standard, he was a thorn in Preston's side for the entire game. Does really well protecting the defence.

Huckerby: 7 - Gave the problems for the entire game, and managed to practically wind the clock down himself at the end of the game.

Earnshaw: 7 - Waited for his chance and took it with gusto. One of many, I hope.

Subs:

McVeigh: 7 - Made the goal - worked hard, and put that magic ball in.

McKenzie: 6 - Broght on to hassel and did just that.

Fleming: 6 - Everyone around me moaned when he was brought on, but he was brought on to waste time and shout at everyone for sitting deep, which promptly went away a little.

If we can play like that week in, week out I'll be a happy bunny no matter where we come in the league, was just outstanding.
