The fact that he used to play for us shouldn't come into the equation. It just distorts views with sentiment. You can't moan about Thorne being a has-been and tehn want us to sign Sutton. However good a player was and whoever they played for they still reach the end of the road at some point. The general opinion in football clearly seems to be that Sutton has reached it.
