if he was really gettig (and turning down) bids from other clubs...

you'd think his agent would be publicising the fact to demonstrate what a hot property he is and puch up his market value. The fact that there have been no such claims suggests he is in virtually no demand whatsoever. That actually surprises me but there must be a reason hat we're not aware of.
