As your statistics seem to say - 2 goals in his last 38 Premiership appearances - they say nothing about his ability to score goals at Championship level. His record at Celtic is a much better gauge at what he might be able to achieve at Championship level, and they point to a goal every 2.5 games. So if we got 30 games out of him (which is worse than average season for him) he'd score 12 goals - which would be about 11 more than Thorne is likely to score.
