I don't disagree with anything there

I just think this is about expectations.

If your definition of 'cracking' is that we haven't let any decent prospects walk away, and we haven't signed any w**kers, then yes, this summer has been cracking.

If we actually wanted to improve, rather than just not get even worse, then we'd need to do more than that. *That* would be cracking.
