US military aid runs at over $2bn a year. Israel has a military budget nearing 10bn

Much of that is spent in the US ... Perhaps not much in the grand scale of things, but not to be sniffed at. Note also that 2bn a year is from the tax-payer and yet most of it ends up in the hands of US companies and their shareholders - welfare for the rich.
