Body Mass Index is not the correct way to assess sportsmen...

Body Mass Index (BMI) does not differentiate between muscle and fat in its calculation, therefore as a rough guideline for the public it will suffice, but for people who rely on muscle to compete or perform the method is pretty much useless. Because Muscle weighs more than fat, it would appear that someone is over weight according to BMI but in reality they are fitter and at lower risk of Cardio-respiratory illness than someone who seem in better shape. BMI does not account for muscle, remember that kids.
