so we've come to the point at which everyone has probably formed a starting 11 in their head that they would like to see play at leeds -
Personally, i would like to see a straight forward 442, everyone knows their job and everyone elses job - the first rule in creating stability and structure, this being a Hunter favourite from what i read.
I have been left very unsure over the quality of Jurgen Colin at RB, so much so that against Leeds i would give the shirt to Flem. Not out of sentiment, but purely because i think he'll do a better job. After that, our CB's Doh and Shack need to start and play the season together if we are to be successfull. Finally, Drury. I read on here that someone sugested he has been off form for 3 years....hmmmm, the guy is sheer class, 8 games in 10 he is best player on the pitch but it goes un-noticed due to its regularity.
Midfield for me, is easy. Our first chance of playing a balanced 4 man midfield, with two exciting, creative, dribbling wingers. Croft - Saf- Etuhu - Hucks if these boys stay fit i think we can expect very good things from them.
Forward line, Earnie and, for me Leon. I know everyone talks up the use of pocket, and yes hes fantastic BUT the prospect of fielding two short forwards merely to keep the ball on the deck is unrealistic and, imo, likely to cause problems. As much as i love pmcv i just can't see where he fits into a structured team, as a last 30 min sub fantastic, but as i said the other day, is he good enough to build a team around? Unfortunatly, i think not.
So, well done if u got this far, my team for leeds would be: Gallacher, Flem, Doh, Shack, Drury, Croft (if fit), Saf, Etuhu, Hucks, Leon and Earnie.
Bench - Colin, Mcveigh, Henderson, Lewis, Thorne.
