Late, but my report re:Northampton

My report on Saturday.

Passing was crisp and varied. We were switching the play, nothing really came from the right but with Croft I can see Hucks getting alot more space. I can not remember more than TWO long balls, some idiot shouted HOOF after the second Adam Drury played a long ball but even that went straight to Earnshaw?s feet..

Although it was only 1-0, we were in control from the first minute. They never looked dangerous with Drury, Shackell and Doc looking VERY solid. Colin looked abit worrying as he went into a few 50/50's half hearted. I guess it WAS pre season and it wasn't worth getting injured for.

Safri was excellent, won all the challenges, using the ball well, Earnshaw full of tricks and was constantly on the last defenders shoulder, McVeigh drifted in and out and he lost the ball quite a few times which was a concern, I've seen play ALOT better...Hucks was great again, should have had a pen. I was directly in line and I heard the defenders foot hit Hucks foot in the Pen. area. Although not hard, Robinson looked 100% better than Hughes on the right... As usual was neat, tidy and worked hard.

MOM... EASILY, Dickson Etuhu. He was, IMO, immense. Looked like a different player. His energy was second to none, his tackles and passing were 98% perfect and he took his goal brilliantly, and one point, when he got forward after an amazing tackle, played it off and sprinted towards the area, it looked like Vieira. If he plays like this every game or every other game, he will be Player OT Season...I was that impressed.

Some may agree, some may not...
