key point - we THOUGHT he was worth ?500k

were we right? We haven't had ?500k of value for him and we couldn't get ?500k for him. So to us he isn't worth ?500k. I agree he was to Reading because they DID get ?500k of value for him - that was my point. Your formula only applies to the selling club not the buying one.
