Worthy has already said there is nobody about in the lower divisions he thinks is good enough.

Yes it is a short term signing but to be honest we are in a situation where we need success in the short term. We need to go up this season otherwise I think it will be a long road back as the squad will be dissembled come the end of the parachute payments.

If he turned round and said "yes i have spoken to Chris but he's after 40k a wek and we can't afford it" then I could live with that but to not even speak to him seems ridiculous. More than anything worthington is missing an opportunity to give the fans a boost and maybe win himself some more breathing space from the supporters.
